Mae Hia
Gated Comfort on the City’s Southern Edge

Mae Hia

On the southwestern edge of Muang district, just south of the airport, bordered by the Canal Road to the west and the Outer Ring Road to the south — the bridge between city and Hang Dong. Once farmland, it's now mooban-land: gated communities with spacious garden homes, plus standalone and modest Thai-style houses. The best-known developments are Koolpuntville 5, 6, and 7, Baan Nai-Fun, and Siwalee — all established communities with pools, security, and enough garden space to actually feel suburban. It's well-served for Western-style shopping and an easy hop from the bigger offerings in Hang Dong, with lighter traffic than downtown — though you'll want a car, since it's not built for walking outside the gated developments. Mae Hia Market handles the local everyday, with Big C and Makro just toward Hang Dong.
