Live showtimes for Major Cineplex at Central Airport Plaza are below. It sits inside the Central mall right by the airport on the south side of town — handy if you live nearby or are combining a movie with a shopping run.
The best reason to come here
Honestly, the movies might not be the main draw. Central Airport now has what is probably the best Baristro location in town — a beautiful café that is almost worth going to the cinema just to have an excuse to visit first.
Across the parking lot is Go Wholesale, the only bulk-food retailer in Chiang Mai, so a grocery run plus a movie is an easy combo.
What to expect
The cinema is smaller than CentralFestival and plays fewer Western-oriented films than Maya, but all the major Hollywood releases screen here in English (look for the "EN" label). Standard tickets are the usual 160–220 baht.
The one real downside is parking — like most Chiang Mai malls, weekends fill up fast and finding a spot can be a genuine hassle. Go on a weekday if you can.
Frequently asked questions
Is Major Cineplex Airport Plaza near Chiang Mai airport?
Yes — it is inside Central Chiang Mai Airport mall on Mahidol Road, a couple of minutes from the airport terminal on the south side of the city.
Do they show English movies at Airport Plaza?
Yes — all the major Hollywood releases screen in original English audio with Thai subtitles (labelled "EN"). For indie or arthouse titles, SFX Maya is a better bet.
Is there parking at Central Airport Plaza?
There is a large mall car park, but it fills up fast on weekends and can be hard to navigate. Weekdays are much easier.
